Dating 101: Means No Hanging Out!
It is fun to hang out with people that you get along with. The growing trend is that young adults are doing more hanging out than dating one another. It is fun to be with people a ton of people that are like you. However, while hanging out young adults are missing one of the key parts of finding your spouse. Dating helps people find things about people they like and don't like. Dating is a great way to narrow down the search for a partner. It is important that you and your spouse are friends first. Who you hang out with is who you tend on dating. There is lots of information on dating. I am hoping to break it down a little bit to make it a little bit more understandable. I will be bringing in different talks and resources to support the ideas I talk about.
I am going to reference Brad Wilcox talk called "Just Hanging out."
Mr. Wilcox talks with young adults about how to still hang out with your friends can prepare you to date. I am only going to list a couple. Please take the time to read the talk "Just Hanging Out" by Brad Wilcox
"Plan activities in advance"
Having a game plan helps avoid trying to come up with something that might take you down the wrong path or bring in negative influences. With that being said you still need to be flexible when it comes to the activities. Many times things do not always go as planned. However, sometimes it is great to see how others will handle the change. Depending on what you are looking for this might be something that is very important to you.
"Stay out of bedroom areas"
This might seem very silly, however, it is not. At first it might seem very harmless and you are just talking. However, just being alone with someone in a bedroom can cause things to happen that you would not plan on happening.
It is important when you are dating that you make sure that you go on real dates. The dates can be with other people. You just need to make use that you can see and traits the person has to mark off on your wish list of the dream person.
Here are some things to ask yourself while looking for that dream person.
The person religious
How do they treat their family?
How do they treat others?
Do they have any of the same goals as you?
Is schooling important?
Do they know how to budget? Is budgeting important to them?
Are they rule followers?
Do they are about looks?
I am sure that you could add more to this list. I just wanted to get you thinking about what is important. "The Family A Proclamation To The World" states that "husband and wife solemn responsibility to love and care for each other." You want to make sure that your spouse will love you and take care of you no matter what. One way to do that is while dating and getting to know each other.
